How does the listing of healthcare professionals work on OneDoc?

OneDoc allows patients to quickly find a healthcare professional in Switzerland. To ensure an efficient and fair search, our OneDoc ranking algorithm ranks the results based on several precise criteria, mainly related to your specialty and location. Discover all our criteria on this page.

Which healthcare professionals are listed in the OneDoc directory?

In Switzerland, there is no single official and comprehensive register that includes all licensed healthcare practitioners (doctors, dentists, therapists, etc.). Therefore, OneDoc relies on various reliable sources to enrich its directory, including:

  • Localsearch
  • FMH and cantonal medical associations
  • ASCA / RME
  • Direct requests from healthcare professionals

Our goal is to offer the most complete and reliable directory possible. Any healthcare professional practicing in Switzerland can be listed, unless they request otherwise.

In case of an error or change (new practice location, additional specialization, spoken language, etc.), you can click on the “update this information” button available on each profile. Our team will then promptly update the data.

Thanks to this system, patients always have access to up-to-date information, and healthcare professionals are visible in a fair and transparent way to their future patients.

Which criteria are considered by the OneDoc algorithm to display results?

When a patient performs a search, the results appear in an order determined by our algorithm. It prioritizes practitioners who are available and promotes online booking.

The results are divided into four categories:

  1. Healthcare professionals who offer online booking and practice within the user’s search area
  2. Healthcare professionals who offer online booking and practice within a radius of about 20 km
  3. Healthcare professionals who do not offer online booking and practice within the user’s search area
  4. Healthcare professionals who do not offer online booking and practice within a radius of about 20 km

To appear in the first two categories and be more easily found by your patients, you must activate online booking on onedoc.ch as well as on our iOS and Android apps.

The algorithm displays one category in full before moving to the next. For practitioners offering online booking (categories 1 and 2), the display order also depends on the first available appointment and the number of available time slots within the next three days. This helps patients easily identify practitioners who can see them quickly.

To maintain fairness among professionals, the results within the same category are randomly reordered each time the page is loaded. Therefore, if you perform the same search twice or refresh the page, the order of practitioners will change randomly. No practitioner is artificially favored.

If a OneDoc subscription is terminated, the practitioner will be removed from the directory. A healthcare professional may also voluntarily request to be delisted.

Is it possible to pay to be featured on OneDoc?

No. OneDoc has no financial ties with healthcare professionals that could influence their ranking in the directory. The listing of practitioners is based solely on the criteria explained above.

How to stand out on OneDoc?

To make your profile inspire trust among OneDoc users, we recommend ensuring that your profile has a OneDoc badge. To do this, simply add photos of yourself and your practice, as well as a profile description in at least one language. Your description should contain at least 200 words to improve your visibility on Google. Online booking should also be activated.
